Platinum on carbon often referred to as Pt/C, is a form of platinum used as a catalyst. The metal is supported on activated carbon in order to maximize its surface area and activity. Platinum on conductive carbon support optimized for use in fuel cell applications. It is most commonly used for Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell (PEMFC), Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC), Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC), and Phosphoric Acid Fuel Cell (PAFC) applications (as the cathode catalyst or anode catalyst).
